Kristin Rokusek

Meet Kristin Rokusek , C-NP

Title: Certified Nurse Practioner

Kristin grew up on a farm near Olivet, SD. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from South Dakota State University in 2011 and her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree with specialization as a Family Nurse Practitioner from South Dakota State University in 2018. After completing her BSN, she worked at Monument Health Rapid City Hospital as a Float Pool nurse and Hospital Coordinator. She joined Rapid City Medical Center’s Gastroenterology group after obtaining her DNP degree. The field of gastroenterology interested Kristin due to the relationship between the GI system and overall health and wellness. Kristin’s practice includes common GI disorders with a special focus on Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Her practice philosophy is based on the patient-provider relationship and shared decision-making utilizing symptomology, clinical evidence, and practice guidelines. While medication is often necessary to treat many GI conditions, lifestyle modifications are also recommended to help achieve overall wellness. In her free time, Kristin enjoys time in the beautiful Black Hills hiking, biking, or kayaking, gardening, cooking/baking, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
